WW-RPAD-RUNNER-CUSTOM
Custom Runner Rug Pad
Most rug pads are made for standard rug sizes. Your runner probably isn't standard.
We cut every pad to order. Pick 2ft or 3ft wide, then pick your exact length — 7ft, 9ft 6in, 13ft, whatever your runner is. Your pad arrives sized to sit flush beneath it. No trimming, no overhang, no guesswork.
Felt top + natural rubber backing: felt grips the rug, rubber grips the floor. Your runner stays put.
1/8" thin — adds cushion without building height. Doors swing freely. Transitions stay flat. Safe for hardwood, tile, vinyl, laminate, LVP, and stone.
Features
- Fits runners from 1ft to 50ft. Standard hallways, long galley kitchens, and everything between. Contact us for 50ft+ (we cut up to 90ft).
- Two widths — 2ft or 3ft. 2ft for narrow runners, 3ft for wide runners and small area rugs.
- 1/8" profile (Goldilocks Thickness). Thinnest pad that still cushions. Won't catch on doors. No tripping ledge at rug edges.
- Felt top — 15 oz/sq yd. Holds the rug's backing in place. Sound-dampening bonus.
- Natural rubber base (Grip Technology). Grips hard floors without sticking, staining, or stripping finish.
- Trim-free — cut to order. Your pad arrives sized to your runner. No scissors required.
- Invisible Foundation — light color, no ghosting. Won't bleed dark shadows through thin or light-colored rugs.
- Safe for hardwood, tile, vinyl, laminate, LVP, and stone. No staining, no off-gassing, no adhesive residue.
- Not recommended for rubber-backed rugs or floors heated above 85°F.
Finally, a pad that fits your runner.
Most pads come in 2×6, 2×8, 2×10 — and stop there. We cut every length from 1 to 50 feet in 1-inch increments. Your runner doesn't have to fit the pad; the pad fits the runner.
1/8" — the sweet spot.
Thick pads block doors and create tripping ledges at rug edges. Thin pads let you feel the hard floor. Our 1/8" profile hits the middle — enough cushion for bare feet, thin enough that doors swing freely and transitions stay flat.
Grip Technology keeps your runner locked down.
Natural rubber backing engineered to grip the floor without adhesive. No skating rugs in the hallway. No bunched corners by the back door. Safe for hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl, LVP, and stone.
Light color, no ghosting.
Dark pads bleed shadows through light or thin rugs. Our pad is a neutral light color — it stays invisible under your runner, no matter the weave.

FAQ
What sizes can I order?
Widths: 2ft or 3ft. Lengths: 1ft to 50ft, in 1-inch increments. If your runner is longer than 50ft, contact us — we make custom lengths up to 90ft.
How thick is it?
1/8" (0.125"). Thin enough that doors swing freely over it; thick enough to add real grip and sound dampening. This is the Goldilocks thickness for runners.
What's it made of?
Recycled felt top layer bonded to a natural rubber base. No PVC, no synthetic latex. 15 oz/sq yd of felt for durability.
Will it stain or damage my floor?
No. The rubber is engineered to grip without transferring color, leaving adhesive residue, or stripping floor finishes. Safe on hardwood, engineered wood, tile, laminate, vinyl, LVP/LVT, and stone.
Will it "ghost" through my light-colored rug?
No. We made our pad a neutral light color specifically so it won't show through thin or pale rugs — unlike dark pads that create a shadow effect.
Can I trim it to fit?
You shouldn't need to — we cut to your exact length. But if you want to trim the width or round corners, household scissors cut clean edges without fraying.
Does it work on carpet?
Yes, but a rubber-backed pad is primarily designed for hard floors. On carpet the felt layer prevents wrinkling, but non-slip performance matters less since the rug won't slide.
Is it safe for radiant-heated floors?
Safe up to ~85°F floor surface temperature. Beyond that, the rubber can degrade. Check your radiant floor's operating temperature.
Can I return a custom-length pad?
Yes, within 14 days for standard runner lengths (up to 50ft). Buyer pays return shipping. Lengths over 50ft are final sale.
When will it ship?
Standard runner lengths cut and ship within 2 business days from our Pennsylvania workshop. Oversize lengths (20ft+) may require 3–5 days.
Why does a 3ft pad cost the same as a 6ft pad?
Short answer: shipping. A 3ft runner pad costs us almost the same to pack, label, and ship as a 6ft one. Rather than charge you a separate shipping fee that would make a small pad feel overpriced, we set one flat price for runners under 6ft. For longer runs, you pay only for the length you need.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions about this rug? Scroll down to read real customer reviews and questions already answered below, or submit your own for help.
Unpacking
Rug arrives factory rolled (or folded, if flat-woven) and may have creases from packaging and storage. Normally flattens within 5-7 days. Expedite by rolling, pattern side up, and massaging creases to loosen them. Laying out in a sunny room helps further loosen the backing.
Note: slight size variations (up to 5%) are normal due to the nature of how all rugs are produced, so expect a little wiggle room!
Cleaning & Long-Term Care
Vacuum regularly with non-beater bar vacuum. For spills, remove excess and blot with a clean cloth dampened with lukewarm water. Repeat with a solution of water and detergent. Finish by Blotting with water and a clean white cloth.
For long term soiling, or a particularly difficult stain, you may need to have your rug cleaned by a professional. Be sure to let them know what made the stain, as well as the construction and fiber content of your rug.
Rug Pad
Use of a rug pad is recommended to reduce slipping and extend the life of your rug. The pad's can keep your rugs in place and prevent them from bunching and sliding while children or pets are playing or during normal daily use.
